ترددت في كتابة هذا الموضوع، لأني لم أقم بزيارة المجلس الوطني الاتحادي حتى الآن، ولكنني أدركت بأن عدم زيارتي للمجلس لا ينبغي أن تكون عائقاً، بل السبب ذاته الذي يدفعني للكتابة، فهل يجب على المواطنين زيارته ليشعروا بوجوده؟

حينما كنت طالباً في باريس، في منتصف التسعينات، لم أكن أرى ضيراً في الإجابة، حين كنت أُسأل من أي بلد جئت، بأني من أبوظبي أو دبي أو الشارقة، أو أي امارة يعرفها السائل عن وطننا الغالي، لأنني ما كنت لأرى فرقاً بين الإمارات. لكن للأسف اكتشفت أن الكثير من الإماراتيين لا يفكرون بهذه الطريقة.
